Burglaries, vehicle thefts lead Riverside police to arrest 2 Moreno Valley men

Four stolen vehicles and at least three burglaries across the Inland Empire led Riverside police to arrest two Moreno Valley men Wednesday, May 10.

An off-duty Riverside police officer spotted a vehicle Wednesday morning that was broadcast as stolen just 30 minutes earlier — when he was still on-duty — and notified authorities, according to a statement from the department.

Further investigation led them to 25-year-old Joshua Dean Miller in Moreno Valley. He was found in possession of three stolen vehicles and property taken in an overnight business burglary, the statement said.

Detectives recovered the stolen items and returned them to their rightful owners. Victims were in Riverside, San Bernardino, Perris and Moreno Valley, according to the statement.

Officer Ryan Railsback confirmed that authorities think there could be more victims and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information may contact Detective Matthew Lackey at 951-826-5376, Detective James Mutuku at 951-353-7241 or Detective Brett Stennett at 951-826-5388.
