Moreno Valley freeway crash sends vehicle down embankment

An SUV rolled down the embankment following a possible fatal crash on the eastbound 60 Freeway near Moreno Beach Drive early Monday morning, according to California Highway Patrol reports.

Crews have shut down one lane of traffic for an unknown period of time, the CHP website noted. A note on the site says the coroner was requested to the scene.

The crash was first reported just before 4:15 a.m. and involved two vehicles, officials said.

No details on how the crash took place had been released as of 5:15 a.m.
