Yucca Valley deputies recover stolen vehicle, make an arrest



A 22-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and burglary Tuesday, July 25, in Yucca Valley, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department news release.

A deputy saw the stolen black Honda Civic headed north on Cholla Avenue near Sunland Drive in Yucca Valley at 10:08 a.m. and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver ran away from the vehicle on foot.

The suspect, later identified as Gabriel Gallegos, ran into a house in the 7000 block of Tamarisk Avenue, and was caught there.
