Victim identifed in fatal Winchester traffic collision

WINCHESTER>>The 30-year-old woman killed at Simpson Road and Whittier Avenue has been identified as Almira Arrellanes, of Perris, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office announced.

Arrellanes was driving a Toyota Camry in the pre-dawn darkness of Oct. 5 on a dirt section of Whittier Avenue when her vehicle and a 2010 Honda Accord being driven by a 43-year-old Murrieta man collided, according to a California Highway Patrol statement..

There are no stop signs or traffic lights at the intersection.

The Accord hit the driver’s side of the Camry and Arrellanes died at the scene, the CHP statement said.

The driver of the Accord declined treatment and the CHP said there were no signs that drugs or alcohol played a factor in this accident.
