Deadlines for submitting applications for the Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival’s Queen Scheherazade Scholarship Pageant and Magic Carpet Music Scholarship are Oct. 11 and Oct 18, respectively.
The pageant is open to young women ages 17 to 22 who go to school in Riverside County. Scholarships for the queen and her court range from $3,500 to $3,000.
The music competition will take place on Nov. 19 and is open to young adults at least 17 years of age who have at least a 2.0 GPA and live in Riverside County. Categories include vocal, instrumental and original composition. A winner in each category will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship.
The fair runs Feb. 16 to25, 2018.
