Off-duty law enforcement officer arrested following Corona domestic disturbance call


An off-duty law enforcement officer was arrested Saturday afternoon following a domestic violence and sexual assault call, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s officials.

Fidel Nunez Jr., 32 of Corona was arrested and booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center, in Murrieta, a sheriff’s press release said.

Just after 1 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were called to the 13100 block of Broken Bit Circle in Corona for a domestic disturbance call, officials said.

“The investigation revealed evidence consistent with domestic violence and sexual assault,” according to the statement, however no other information, including the agency Nunez works for, was released Monday.

Detectives are still investigating the case, officials said. The ask anyone with information to call the Lake Elsinore station at 951-245-3300.
