40-year-old man killed in crash at 10/15 interchange in Ontario

A 40-year-old Riverside man died of injuries suffered in a single-vehicle rollover crash at the interchange of I-10 and I-15 in Ontario early Sunday morning, Feb. 4, authorities reported.

The man’s identity was not immediately released.

At about 3:55 a.m. Sunday, a man driving by himself in a black 2004 Nissan Maxima drove onto the ramp connecting northbound I-15 traffic to eastbound I-10, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. While negotiating the transition road, the car rolled several times, throwing the driver from the vehicle, the release stated.

A San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office report, which identified the man’s age and his city of residence, stated that the car went onto an embankment and overturned.

The CHP said the driver was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. The man died at the hospital at 4:43 a.m. Sunday, according to the coroner’s report.
