1 in custody after man found stabbed to death in San Bernardino

A 38-year-old man was found stabbed to death Monday night in San Bernardino, police said.

Officers found the victim unresponsive after police received a 911 call a little after 5:30 p.m. of a possible stabbing in the 500 block of West Courtland Drive, according to a news release from the San Bernardino Police Department.

Another call came in about 30 minutes later to the department about a man who had jumped into the back of a pickup truck and refused to get out.

Owen Bennett, 41, of San Bernardino was detained by officers in the 1100 block of North East Street after he became uncooperative, according to the release.

“Based on evidence and statements, detectives arrested Bennett for his involvement with the homicide on Courtland Drive,” the release stated.
