My Chemical Romance announces a long-awaited reunion gig at The Shrine Expo Hall

Beloved emo rock band My Chemical Romance has been teasing fans for a couple of years now about the possibility of a reunion after announcing its breakup back in 2013.

The group, which is known for songs such as “Helena,” “I’m Not Okay (I Promise),” “Welcome to the Black Parade,” “Teenagers” and “Na Na Na,” posted on Twitter on Halloween the line “Like Phantoms Forever …” along with ticket on-sale information for a gig simply dubbed “Return” on Friday, Dec. 20 at The Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Tickets are $149.50 and go on sale at noon on Friday, Nov. 1 at AXS.com.

My Chemical Romance released its last album, “Danger Says: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys,” in 2010. Since the breakup, vocalist Gerard Way has gone on to release solo material and became the co-founder of DC Comics’ Young Animal imprint where he wrote the mini-series “The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” and the award-winning series, “The Umbrella Academy.” The latter project was adapted for television and released on Netflix on Feb. 15 of this year.
