1 dead, 1 hospitalized after fatal afternoon traffic collision in Colton

One driver died and another was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision in Colton, police said.

The driver who died, a 72-year-old man, was not fully identified Sunday on the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office web site. The Friday mid-afternoon crash near Riverside Avenue and Key Street was under investigation.

The other driver, who had remained at the crash site, was taken to a hospital, Sgt. Gregory Castillo wrote. Colton police and firefighters and ambulance service AMR all went to the scene.
