Man arrested on suspicion of starting fire in Yucaipa

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of starting a fire last week in Yucaipa, Cal Fire’s San Bernardnio Unit said on Tuesday.

Fire officials said firefighters from Cal Fire and the Yucaipa Fire Department responded to the 32300 block of Avenue D in Yucaipa on Thursday after getting reports of a vegetation fire.

“Witnesses provided a description of a suspect lighting the fire,” Cal Fire said.

Officials said that man was later identified as Eric Williams, of Yucaipa. Williams was arrested on suspicion of arson and resisting a peace officer.

He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, according to jail records.
