RIVERSIDE — Two people were injured, one critically, in a natural gas explosion at a fueling facility in Riverside on Sunday, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
The explosion in the 5900 block of Acorn Street, just north of the Riverside Airport, was reported about 5:30 p.m., said fire department Commander Scott Wilson.
One person was critically injured and a second person suffered minor injuries, Wilson said. Both were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The department sent one engine company, two ambulances and four firefighters to the scene, he said.
The cause of the explosion was being investigated by authorities.
