Downtown Disney offers seasonal sweet treats for Halloween and fall


Sweet treats for Halloween bring out the kid in all of us. So, Downtown Disney has rolled out a roster of special dishes for fall. Some are spooky, some spicy and some pumpkiny, guaranteeing there’s something for everyone. Here’s a list of what’s cooking with notes about when they’re available. We’ve tagged those we are especially looking forward to sinking our fangs into with a ♥.

Marceline’s Confectionery

If you love candy this is your one-stop shop, an old-fashioned store named after Walt Disney’s hometown, Marceline, Missouri. It’s your headquarters for artistically decorated candy apples. But there are many more goodies from hot chocolate mixes to marshmallow wands. All these seasonal items will be available while supplies last except Pumpkin Spiced Toffee.

Minnie Witch Candy Apple: A Granny Smith gets dipped in caramel, fitted with marshmallow ears, covered in milk chocolate and crowned with a chocolate witch hat, lavender-colored sugar, and orange candy-coated chocolates.

Hades Candy Apple: Granny Smith dipped in caramel, coated in colored chocolate, and decorated with a chocolate Hades amulet.

Ursula Candy Apple: Granny Smith dunked in caramel, enrobed in colored chocolate, decorated with a chocolate Ursula shell.

Minnie Witch Crispy Treat: Crispy rice cereal treat coated in milk chocolate, with a chocolate witch hat, lavender-colored sugar and orange candy-coated chocolates.

♥ Magic Mirror Crispy Treat: Crispy rice cereal treat dipped in dark black chocolate and decorated with dark chocolate, yellow white chocolate and red candy-coated chocolates. This one looks particularly yummy and chocolaty. We like that it will travel well so you can eat while you stroll.

Cinnamon Marshmallow Wand: Marshmallows coated in caramel, covered in white chocolate, then dusted with cinnamon-sugar.

Pumpkin-spiced Toffee:  White chocolate-covered toffee dusted with pumpkin spice and orange colored sugar. Oct. 29-31 while supplies last.

Ballast Point Brewing Company

This popular brewer will offer short rib pot pie and other fall dishes but it’s also got a sweet treat on the menu.

Pumpkin Down Ale Float: A frat boy’s delight with vanilla bean ice cream floating in eight ounces of Pumpkin Down Ale. It’s crowned with a waffle wedge. Available while supplies last.

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes

Black Tap’s claim to fame is its shakes and here’s one that will taste like Thanksgiving dessert in a glass.

Pumpkin Pie Classic Shake: Combines the flavors of pumpkin and spice with the creaminess of a thick milk shake. Through Oct. 31.

California Churro

Of course there are churros at Downtown Disney. Here’s what’s new for Halloween.

♥ Pumpkin Spice Churro: A crispy churro dusted with sugar and spice, it’s offered with a side of cream cheese icing for dipping. Through Nov. 15.

Jamba

Juice stand.

Pumpkin Smash: This pumpkin-flavored smoothie can go classic or plant-based. Available while supplies last.

Kayla’s Cake

Dessert stand.

♥ Mummy Macarons: Filled with cookies and cream buttercream, these are decorated to look like mummies. Through Oct. 31.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Macarons:  A dreamy white chocolate pumpkin ganache is sandwiched between two cookies. Through Oct. 31.

Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen

New Orleans specialties and an express outlet for beignets and chicory coffee.

♥ Seasonal dipping sauces:  We love the beignets anyway but now they’ll be even more tempting, topped with sauces: Spooky Boo-Berry (blueberry), Caramel Apple and Maple Pecan Crème Anglaise. Through Nov. 29.

Salt & Straw

Ultra premium scoop shop offering some of the best vegan ice cream you’ve ever tasted. The shop always has new flavors and returning favorites, these are available Oct. 9 through Nov. 5.

♥ The Great Candycopia Ice Cream: Salted butterscotch ice cream with housemade versions of favorite candies. It’s like dumping your trick-or-treat haul into an ice cream maker. The variety changes each year but has often included Snickers, Whoppers, Heath Bars and peanut butter cups.

Creepy Crawly Critters Ice Cream: A dare-ya green matcha flavor that contains edible meal worms and chocolate-covered crickets. We’ve tasted and its actually delicious.

Mummy’s Pumpkin Spiced Potion Ice Cream: Vegan flavor with a coconut base of pumpkin spice ice cream infused with pumpkin tea and bits of candied pumpkin blended in.

Sprinkles

The cupcake shop with the cult following always has seasonal offerings and will kick off with a pumpkin treat before adding more fall and Halloween-themed items.

♥ Pumpkin Cupcake:  Pumpkin cake with baking spices like ginger, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon gets topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.Through Nov. 29.

Wetzel’s Pretzels

Cinnamon Bitz with Caramel Sauce: Little pretzel bits coated with cinnamon-sugar and a side of sauce to dip into.  Available while supplies last.
