Moreno Valley couple celebrate 60th anniversary

William F. Baird Sr. and Shirley M. Baird of Moreno Valley recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a private dinner.

They were married Nov. 25, 1960, in Muncie, Ind., and they lived in Indiana and Ohio until 1980 when they moved to Rialto. They have lived in Moreno Valley since 1991.

Their children are William Baird Jr. and his wife, Tina Baird, of Desert Hot Springs; Brian Baird and his wife, Annabelle Baird, of California City; Valerie Lacour and her husband, Tony Lacour, of California City; and Virginia Frazier and her husband, Harold Frazier, of Perris. They also have 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

William Baird is a retired elementary school teacher who taught in the Columbus Public Schools in Columbus, Ohio, and in the San Bernardino City School District. He most recently taught sixth grade at Kimbark Elementary School in San Bernardino.

Shirley Baird is a retired retail store associate who worked at Mervyn’s department store in San Bernardino.

Both have been retired for more than 15 years.

The Bairds were on bowling leagues while living in Ohio and now keep up their skills while bowling against each other on their Wii game.
