Moreno Valley Mall coronavirus vaccination site opens Monday

Starting Monday, March 8, the Moreno Valley Mall’s former Sears will be offering something new: the coronavirus vaccine.

“I am excited that such a large city will be getting a vaccination site,” Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Hewitt is quoted as saying in a county news release. “This will help us make sure our elderly and most vulnerable have convenient access to the vaccine.”

The location replaces the Corona High School vaccination site, which closed Friday, March 5. The Riverside University Health System-Public Health team from Corona High will be transferring to the Moreno Valley Mall location Monday.

“We have been working with the county for some time, advocating for a Moreno Valley mass-vaccination site and securing an effective location,” Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez is quoted as saying in the release. “Locating a site in Riverside County’s second-largest city will help speed up the vaccination process and improve safety countywide, and I urge all adults to get vaccinated as soon as you qualify for a shot.”

The former Sears is at 22550 Town Circle.

Shots will be given from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. To check for eligibility or schedule an appointment, visit: RivCoPH.org/COVID-19-Vaccine-with-Registration.
