Virtual candlelight vigil in San Bernardino honors COVID-19 victims


A virtual candlelight vigil Friday, March 26, honored the victims of COVID-19 in the 47th Assembly District, which includes much of the San Bernardino Valley.

Centered at San Bernardino City Hall, the vigil was led by Assemblymember Eloise Gómez Reyes, D-San Bernardino, and city officials. Reyes represents the district, which includes Fontana, Rialto, Colton, Grand Terrace, San Bernardino, Muscoy and Bloomington.

“This pandemic has impacted all of us, especially those who have lost a loved one,” Reyes said. “I am grateful for the community and the city of San Bernardino for partnering with my office to pause and remember the families we have lost to this pandemic.”

The vigil was streamed on Facebook live.

San Bernardino County has recorded 3,868 deaths from COVID-19.
