Stolen Star Wars sporks return to Disneyland — and you can get one, for a price

The space sporks that scoundrels and smugglers stole from Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo after Galaxy’s Edge debuted at Disneyland can now be purchased for a price from the Star Wars-themed restaurant.

Disneyland now sells the $10.99 sporks at Docking Bay 7 to visitors who want to eat Fried Endorian Tip-Yip, Smoked Kaadu Ribs or a Mustafarian Lava Roll with a Star Wars-inspired utensil. Galactic credits won’t be accepted. Cash or credit only.

The Galaxy’s Edge sporks come in a collectible pouch that has “Property of Docking Bay 7” spelled out in the Star Wars language of Aurebesh on the bag.

The Docking Bay 7 sporks are among several new merchandise and food items recently introduced in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disneyland officials said.

Disneyland had a problem with Galaxy’s Edge visitors stealing anything without a price tag when the Star Wars land first opened in May. Space pirates made off with the sporks in Docking Bay 7, the laminated menus from Oga’s Cantina and the color-coded flight crew cards for the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction.

Disneyland initially set out tubs filled with the super cool Star Wars sporks in Docking Bay 7 when Galaxy’s Edge first opened. After a rash of thefts, the sporks were then handed out by employees at the front counter. Before long, more traditional metal and plastic forks replaced the sporks in the counter-service restaurant.

Many of the five-finger discount items found their way to cyberspace and eventually showed up on the secondary market.

Sellers on eBay are still asking as much as $250 for the futuristic-looking metal spoon-forks with angled tines that were purloined from Docking Bay 7. Some resellers are already marking up the new $10.99 sporks with the collectible pouch nearly six-fold, offering free shipping to those willing to shell out $60 for the Galaxy’s Edge souvenir.
